SDG Commitment

Home / About Us / SDG Commitment

It is widely agreed that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires collaborative efforts, and the private sector must intensify its contributions.
For this reason, in July 2019, AHP joined the SDG Alliance Portugal, an initiative by the UN Global Compact Network Portugal, the Portuguese branch of the United Nations Global Compact -  the only UN entity dedicated to the business sector, committed to achieving the SDGs approved by the UN General Assembly in 2015.

The HEART Program already contributes to the following SDGs:
SDG 1 - No Poverty:
Donations of goods and support to IPSS help improve living conditions for vulnerable populations.

SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation:
Efforts to reduce waste and promote water efficiency, even indirectly, support this goal.

SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth:
Support for inclusive employment and training fosters decent work and inclusion.

SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities
The inclusion of disadvantaged individuals in the labor market and support for IPSS that assist vulnerable groups contribute to achieving this goal.

SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
Circular economy initiatives, such as recycling oils and textiles and reducing waste in the sector, align with this goal.

SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals
This is the central SDG of the program, given its focus on collaborations with companies and social entities to achieve common goals in social responsibility and sustainability.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are our common vision for humanity and a social contract between world’s leaders and the people. They are a list of things to do on behalf of the people and a plan for success.

Ban Ki-moon - secretário-geral da ONU, 2015
